Day 6 - The day of departure

Unfortunately, I Couldn't go to the Island Gozo, because, I had to go to the plane before the trip was finished. But I had plenty of time to discover St. Julian's. So I went to the seaside (it was just 100 meters away from the hotel, but everything is so built-in that you don't see the sea from the street). So I set in the bay for an hour, and then i realized that my face is burnt (it was so windy, I couldn't  realize the power of the sun). Then I  was walking around the city for 2 hours and it was quite interesting. I found the "Cat village", where abandoned cats found a shelter. I saw all these bars, where 60 shots costs only 25 euros (who  can drink 60 shots?!!!?!). And I found out that Malta is nice, the inhabitants are nice, but i would never go there for a Holiday.
Cities are so crowded, there are no beaches, just a hotels. OK, the old part of Valletta and Mdina are really beautiful and these archeological remains must be really interesting in the nature, but i still think that Malta is a way too much touristic destination for my taste.
But at the end, the course and the destination were a really nice experiences!

Day 5- The end of the course

Oh, the phrasal verbs! Good! And stereotypes! Great themes for the last day! I felt more comfortable about these themes than a day before. And at the end we refreshed knowledge about English tenses. I must say that I am good in tenses. I must say, that I have learnt much in these 5 days, but I should attend 10 days course. Because of practice. After the course, we exchanged email addresses and telephone numbers and made plan for an evening dinner.

At 7 p.m. we met each other in front of the hotel and went to the Chinese restaurant (Yes, not Maltese, the previous day the food there wasn't so excellent.....but the prices were....uh... ). It was a nice evening, talking about our lives, countries and we have promised to each other that we will see each others again as a tourist in the countries where others come from.

Day 4 - A day to learn and rest

OH, prepositions! I have problems with choosing the right one!  I realized that in the fourth day of the course! I was never thinking about them, I didn't care much of them. But then the reality came over me! Uf, I have to work on that aspect of my English ...
And I realized that this is penultimate  day of the English course, so I don't have enough time! I have decided, that i will work on my English every day for 20- 30 minutes, after coming home.
I didn't feel well about this realization, so I treated myself to a good diner with a glass of wine! I had to calm down:).

Day 3 - Visit Valletta again

It was the most difficult day . First we have  refreshed our memory about phonemic chart and then we were listening about voices and pronunciation, but luckily after the second break we start talking about Malta. Obviously we didn't do much about phonemic in the high school. We finished our lessons an hour and a half earlier, so we went to Valletta again. We wanted to see the Saint's John Co-Cathedral. A day before our guide had motivated us to visit it. Even though  it was raining, we decided to go. We called a taxi. It turned out that driving with taxi on Malta is quite adrenaline. In first 10 minutes of driving we almost had 3 car accidents. And then, in the last case, our driver got mad. He opened the car window and start yelling on the driver in the other car. I was sitting in the front seat, on the middle of  loud quarrel.  I felt really uncomfortable and I was quite scared (i just hoped, that neither of them won't pull the knife or gun out)....And after that word duel, the driver calmly said "Welcome to Malta", we started laughing and the tension disappeared in a second.
First we went to the cathedral...the only thing i could say was : wauuuu!!! .....It is breathtaking! In our class was also one archaeologist from Poland, so it was necessary  to go to the Museum of Archaeology.  It was interesting but I was still under the impression of Saint John's Cathedral.
It is a pity that it was raining, so i didn't get the right impression of the capital.

Day 2- Tour to Valletta

"Woow, i can swallow" was my first thought, after i woke up. And went directly to the lesson. I was so excited about lessons and a trip to Valletta after the course. On the second day, we were learning about school systems in different countries. After the break  we made a plan for our 25 day long trip. And we have learnt, that now it's not political correct to use a word disability, when we want to describe some mental or physical deficiency. The right word is impairment.  After the lessons we went to Valletta. Right around the corner of our hotel – there were three old buses, dated in the year 1952, waiting for us, to drove groups to the capital. It was really nice experience, with illuminated altar above the driver. First we had a tour around old part of the city. We have heard a lot about the architecture, about inhabitants of the city and island. After the tour, we went to the cinema, to see audio-visual presentation of the history of the island. It was really impressive...After our guided tour we went back to  Saint's Juian, and have some great time with schoolmates while eating pizza.
And suddenly I have
realized, that i should apply for the course for 2 weeks not only for 1!

The Fluency and English Language Development course for teachers- day 1

After breakfast, all students had  an announcement about the schedule and daily trips. We were allocated to the groups at ours respective level of English. I was lucky, because I was in a group with 6 really friendly women and we got a great teacher Roberta!

First we have to broke the ice and Roberta gave us a worksheet with some pictures on it and we had to tell which 4 of them describes us the most.
Than we were taking about travelling and educational systems in our countries.
The learning was fun, I wasn't under the pressure,I have refreshed my knowledge of English. I was surprised, because I didn't have problems with stage fright, I was self confident with my English....I think that Roberta knows how to do it- even though  I made a lot of mistakes, I didn't get the feeling that my English is awful...
After the lessons we had a gathering in the restaurant. They served snacks and some Maltese drinks...But I still have problems with health, so I didn't stay long. I spent the whole afternoon in the. bed...

Going to Malta while being ill

A week before I went to Erasmus mobility to  English course, I got fever and sore throat. The doctor said that I got a flu, so I will be OK in few days. But I wasn't. The fourth day of sickness, I went back to the clinic and the doctor finally realized  that I need antibiotics. I was quite nervous, because I still felt awful and there were only two days left to the flight to Malta. On the day of my departure,I still had fever but felt a little better. I was lucky, that I left Ljubljana in the middle of the night, so I spent whole Saturday in bed, drinking tea, lemonade and eating honey. But I exaggerate with these drinks, so two hours before shuttle departure, I got a big problems with stomach. And .... I started coughing heavily. I was totally desperate. I just wanted to cry and stay at home. But somehow I got some strange power and I survive the trip including the shuttle to the Airport in Italy and two flights. I was so thankful, that we had arranged the transport from the airport to the hotel, before I have arrived... I was so exhausted.... The driver drove me directly to the hotel and I just went to bed and fall asleep for 4 hours. I didn't care about the sea, the food, I didn't care about Malta. I just want to rest. But at the evening I had to eat. So I went out and try to find some restaurant. And while I was looking around for some food, I found this picturesque scene... hmmm...Suddenly I felt relieved: I am on Malta and everything will be OK!
